AME Mission Statement
The mission of AME is to safeguard our membership by negotiating and enforcing a collective bargaining agreement that ensures reasonable compensation, job protection and advocating for a safe and healthy workplace. AME will accomplish this mission through an informed leadership and membership, utilizing education, communication, accessibility and political action. Membership involvement and unity are essential to the success of AME’s mission.
We Pledge To:
- Restore Fiscal Integrity and Oversight to the SC Employees Medical Health Plan (EMHP)
- Provide Competent and Inclusive Negotiations
- Hire Strong Accountable Consultants
- Maintain a Qualified, Credentialed Health & Safety Officer
- Provide Timely Newsletters
- Expedite the Grievance Process
- Institute PERB Actions accordingly
- Implement ALL provisions of the Contract, including the Labor/Management Committees to Address:
- Caseload Issues
- Mileage Reimbursement
- 24 hour Facility Issues
- Health & Safety Matter
- Have Executive Officers Accessible in the Field Daily
- Fight Union Busting Tactics of:
- Privatization
- Part-time/Seasonal Workers
- Reduced Staffing/Budget Cut
- Hold Quarterly General Union Meetings beginning, September 2003
- Will provide useful, up-to-date information in the AME Newsletter
- Reinstate the Wellness Program
- Expand Civil Service Training Workshops
