Special Board of Directors Meeting

Dear Board of Directors,
AME is in receipt of the Judicial Board’s recommendation on an Election Grievance filed by Linda McGregor, candidate for Executive Vice President. The board is recommending that an entirely new election be conducted for all eight (8) positions on the Executive Board.
Election grievances are automatically appealed to the Board of Directors whenever a new election is recommended, therefore, a Special Board of Directors meeting is called for Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.
The Board of Directors must act “no later than five (5) working days after the order of a new election by the Judicial Board.” This time frame gives us until May 12, 2009 to hold a Board of Directors meeting, according to Bylaws Article VII, Elections, and Section 9. Election Grievances.
The grievance and the judicial decision are at AME for your review. A copy is being emailed to you along with the agenda for the meeting or you may pick up copies directly from AME. Additional copies will be available tomorrow at the Special BOD meeting. I will present the appeal to the Board on behalf of the Executive Board-Elect.
If you have any further questions, or would like to meet with me prior to the meeting, I will be available on Tuesday at 12 noon until the start of the Special BOD meeting at AME in the Executive Board Conference Room.
