Early Retirement Incentive Update

6/23/2010 9:00:00 AM - Cheryl A. Felice, President

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR AME MEMBERS

Early Retirement Incentive Update
June 23, 2010

The Suffolk County Legislature did not pass the Early Retirement Incentive at yesterday’s meeting in Riverhead as it was proposed, with limitations, by County Executive Levy.

Presiding Officer Bill Lindsay filed an alternative ERI that includes the workers from the John J. Foley Skilled Nursing Facility in his version of the incentive.

The Presiding Officer's bill is scheduled to be debated at a Special Meeting of the Suffolk Cty Legislature on:

Wednesday, July 7, 2010 @ Hauppauge

It is not known, at this time, whether the "open window period" that was established in the original bill will change or remain the same.

Be assured - more details will follow as we receive them! Please be sure to check the AME website for further updates.
